A life of music making

Raul is a Valencian-born Australian musician with over 30 years experience in the music industry. His professional career began as the guitarist with the multi ARIA nominated band Magic Dirt, and since then he has composed, performed and recorded music in Midnight Woolf, River Of Snakes, The Ape (with Tex Perkins), The Sanchez Brothers and Electric Savant, touring extensively around Australia and internationally.

Additionally Raul is a multi-instrumentalist, recording producer, recording engineer and noise/ soundscape artist. He has also released two solo albums and an Electronica EP.

His compositions have been featured on Australian TV sitcoms such as “Neighbours” and “Home and Away”, and advertisements (both locally and internationally).

Focusing his musically eclectic and original creative drive to the film and animation worlds he has scored the music to:
- the pilot/teasers of “The Jan and Rai show” and “The Alchemist’s delivery service”  (2016) both for B.E.S Australia.

- The feature film “Showdown in Freakytown” (2017) (winner of a Gold award from the International Independent Film Awards for best soundtrack 2017).

- The feature film “Undertow” (2019), collaborating with Lisa Gerrard (Gladiator, etc) and James Orr. (Nominated for 2 AACTA awards for Best actress/Best Editor)

-The 48 x (11 minute) episodic series “Monster Beach” (2020) for Cartoon Network (Winner of the Asia Academy Creative Awards-Best Australian animated programme award)
