A life of music making

Raul is a Valencian-born Australian musician with over 30 years experience in making music. His professional career began as the guitarist with the multi ARIA nominated band Magic Dirt, and since then he has composed, performed and recorded music in Midnight Woolf, River Of Snakes, The Ape (with Tex Perkins), The Sanchez Brothers, Electric Savant and Murmuri, touring extensively around Australia and internationally.

Additionally Raul is a recording producer, recording engineer and noise/ soundscape artist. He has also released three solo albums and an Electronica EP.

His compositions have been featured on Australian TV sitcoms such as “Neighbours” and “Home and Away”, and advertisements (both locally and internationally).

Highlights: 

 

-Composed and Performed the original score to the feature film "Showdown in Freakytown" (2017), which earned a Gold Award for Best Soundtrack from the International Independent Film Awards.

 

-Collaborated with Lisa Gerrard (Gladiator & Dead Can Dance singer) and James Orr on the score to the feature film "Undertow" (2019)

 

-Created the music for the 48-episode series "Monster Beach" (2020) for Cartoon Network, which won the Asia Academy Creative Award for Best Australian Animated Programme.

-Created the music for a scene in the Film TAKAYNA-The Heart of Lutruwita (2024)

-Co-wrote, Co-performed and Co-produced the song "In Red and Blue" with Adalita for the new Horror film Wolfman (2025), directed by the visionary Director Leigh Whannell
